The idea that because some parts of a kink lifestyle aren't explicitly sexual (which I do agree with) makes them therefore acceptable to have out in public is fucking insane. A leash in a part of a power dynamics, those power dynamics are almost always sexual in nature (especially to those who do not partake in kinks). I can't believe I'm honestly seeing these type of arguments. Just like walking on a leash at pride wouldn't be sexual. Some subs want a 'daddy', and that doesn't have to be explicitly sexual either, plenty of aspects of that particular relationship are not sexual, but the fact that it comes with lots of other sexual connotations makes the term sexual. Too bad your perspective isn't the only one that matters in a public forum. Every kink community I've ever been in stresses the importance of your own kinks being kept in private (or in a play/group setting where everyone knows what to expect).įor whatever reason, you get a big enough online community presence, and it really does seem to attract the worse.įirst of all, saying I want an owner is not sexual.

I swear this is what happens when people are terminally online, rather than actually engaging in the real world. Ironically, everyone I know who actually is part of a kink community would say your positions are the one smearing the kink community.

Thank you for speaking for the entire kink community, didn't realise we had elected ambassadors. It really does feel like a smear against the whole kink community. I'm pissed, and I feel attacked for being the wrong kind of gay, even though I've never even done anything that he mentioned on his stream. It's sensible to have a discussion about where to draw the line when it comes to kink. I don't have a problem with there being a debate on what is or isn't acceptable, but to have this kind of zero-tolerance attitude is really infuriating and ignorant. And secondly, they acted as if people under 18 even seeing the word 'kink' was tantamount to exposing them to porn.

That was it.Īpparently the word 'owner' was enough for them to ban me, because there are under 18s on that server, and I didn't take it to their 18+ 'thirst-posting' channel.įirst of all, saying I want an owner is not sexual. I was recently banned from the Contrapoints discord server for asking if there was a kink-friendly dating app.
